Living in busy South London, Maddie realised how hard it can be to consistently provide the love, care and attention that our dogs need and want from an experienced and qualified carer, in such an unregulated field. "My role is to ensure that your favourite furry friends are safe, happy, loved, well exercised and mentally stimulated, as well as leaving you, the owners, feeling at ease about your dog’s well-being whilst they're in my care."
Having been an avid dog lover since she was young, Maddie decided to go back to college in 2014 to turn her passion into her every day! Maddie studied a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Animal Management (completed with triple Distinction * grade), became a Community Dog Walker for the Blue Cross Foundation and was lucky enough to join an amazing dog walking company, working for professional trainer Diane Kasperowicz (Super Hounds), where she was sent on a range of courses to build up her knowledge and skills. Sadly, Maddie's own dog at the time, Cookie, became suddenly ill and couldn't be left unattended due to seizures. Although it was a sad time, it was their final walks together which saw Maddie gaining her own clients, and so because of Cookie we now have Thompson&Pooch.
For your peace of mind, Maddie is fully insured with Pet Plan, DBS checked, Dog First Aid Trained, was previously a member of the National Association of Pet Sitters and Dog Walkers (NARPs), and is now eagerly awaiting acceptance into the Pet Industry Federation (PIF). Maddie has also taken part in many courses and seminars, ranging from Advanced Canine Body Language (Dog Training College), Brain Games (Paws & Play), Self Control in Dogs (Dog Training College) and many more (See experience below).
Maddie was also an assistant instructor at the Dog Training College, pre COVID.
