Nope! I strongly believe in the dog-owner bond, so the more time you’d like to spend with your pooch the better. However, do keep in mind that for them to feel comfortable with us, and for them to be able to make solid friendships within the group, coming out at least once a week is recommended.
Regular or set days are recommended as then I can hold and guarantee your dogs spot every week.
Adhoc operates on a first come first served basis, so slots can not always be guaranteed. Make sure to get your days booked in as far in advance as you can!
I understand that sometimes your weekly schedules can be changed last minute, and with this in mind I strive to be as flexible as possible.
With me you get one free cancellation each week, and an unlimited amount of swapped walks or days each week (subject to availability).
Nope. In fact, the majority of my clients are comfortable sharing a set of keys with me. This allows me to collect and drop off your dog even if you are not home, and leave them comfortable and ready for your arrival.
I do prefer owners to obtain a key box, as this means I don't have to keep them on my persons at all times, but this is not essential.
As long as your dog is well socialised (with no history of aggression) and has a good recall (85 - 90% reliable), then they're welcome with us! Everything else will be worked on whilst we're out, and many owners have noticed an improvement with their dog's behaviour after joining me regularly.
Yes, I can sometimes offer an earlier collection time (between 7 - 9am) , or a later drop off time (between 5 - 7pm) on the occasions when you need it.
Both services are charged separately, with an extra 25% surcharge.
I generally operate from Monday - Friday.
However, upon request, and better booked in advance, I can offer walks or day care on weekends and bank holidays.
Saturdays have an extra 25% Surcharge.
Sundays and Bank Holiday's have an extra 100% surcharge.
To stay within the regulations and guidance of most boroughs I take out groups of 4 - 6.
Usually our lovely dogs end up forming their own special friendships with one another, enjoying similar activities - you'll get to know your pooches friends too through our WhatsApp groups.
Quite easily. I keep my dogs on lead for the first 5 - 10 minutes of our walks, so that I can collect the poohs as they come.
You also, oddly, get to know your dogs and their individual toileting habits, for example, some are serial offenders, some like to walk as they go, some go only the once etc. so you really know who you need to watch.
During hot weather we use special cooling coats, make sure to walk at locations sheltered by trees and with generous amounts of water for swimming. I also carry water on my person for times we're not near the water, going to and from the van.
It's not often the weather is too bad to walk in, but on these rare occasions I will rearrange my schedule accordingly and let you know the changes ASAP.
Never, unless absolutely necessary. In which case they will not be left for more than 4 hours, as recommended by Dogs Trust Dog School.
For your pooches' mental health I use Positive Reinforcement Training.
After all, how do you learn better, and with the least stress? When someone guides and praises you as you learn, or when someone punishes you for getting it wrong?
